The ISSC halaqa is a 501(c)(3) private foundation registered in Massachussetts on October the 3rd 2018. it offers a space for Islamic religious education and spiritual development for Muslim students and professionals living in the Cambridge and Greater Boston Area. It is a forum for dhikr, the practice and remembrance of Allah, and discussion of major ethical works to acquaint participants with Islamic pedagogy and practice of spiritual cultivation. In addition to reading and discussing foundational texts, ISSC will host academics, Imams, and chaplains to share their experience and research with group members. Group activities will include reading devotional literature, organizing pilgrimage in Holy cities in the Muslin World, Sufi concerts, Quranic classes, a Ramadan iftar program, and a Sister’s Book Club and more. Additionally, the ISSC group joins local interfaith initiatives and activities to facilitate awareness about Islam, foster mutual understanding between different faith traditions and provide support to communities in need
